Jewelry sales for Valentine’s day is set to increase about 11 percent from last year, according to a report from IBISWorld, a company that provides industry market research analysis.
Luxury spending has already been on the rise this year, and travel was forecasted to make a strong increase however with Valentine’s Day falling on a Monday this year, more people may be looking to splurge on jewelry.
“This year, IBISWorld expects jewelry to make up 7.8 percent of all Valentine’s Day sales, making its way back to pre-recessionary level,” said IBISWorld retail industry analyst Nikoleta Panteva.
So for those looking to go big or go home this year, may we suggest the Eterna 0364W, a diamond eternity ring featuring joint prong set Round cut diamonds all the way around the band. The small width creates a dainty design to hold the .85 total carats worth of diamonds, and the beauty of an eternity band is that it doesn’t have to be just for wedding, but anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day as well.
Since Emeralds are in fashion this year, why not custom order the Eterna 7012W from Verragio, but trade out the Round cut diamonds for emeralds and have them set in yellow gold. The green gemstones will look perfect set against the classic looking yellow, and because it is custom made, there is no way this lucky lady will run into someone wearing the same thing this valentine’s day.
But for those who think that 2012 Valentine’s Day may be the perfect time to give the ultimate piece of jewelry, start looking at something unique, like the Paradiso 3060R from Verragio. This engagement ring features a Round cut diamond center with joint prong, Round cut diamonds set into the shank, and because it is from the Paradiso collection it also has the signature scrolling design under the band. If you’re a romantic at heart and decide to pop the question on Valentine’s Day, think about putting Rubies inside the band so that there will always be a memento of your extra-special holiday.
