When “True Blood’s” main costars, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer exchanged wedding rings in Malibu this past August, they may have tried to keep things private, but they still shared the moment with many of the other cast members.
Now it looks like it will be another group event when actor Joe Manganiello ties the knot with his fiancé, Audra Marie this year. Although Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide on the popular HBO series, just joined the cast this past season, it seems that he’s already pretty close to his cast members.
“The cast will be invited to the wedding,” Manganiello told People at the PGA Awards in Beverly Hills this past weekend. “I love them. They’re like my family.”
The actor also shared with People how he celebrated landing the role as a series regular on “True Blood.”
“The first thing I did with my first check as a season regular is get together with my friend who is a jewelry designer and we co-designed an engagement ring,” he told the celebrity new source. “And then my now- fiancée and I went on our trip to Italy and got engaged.”
Manganiello, a Pittsburg native, first met Audra in 2009 on the way to the Commissioner’s Ball when the Steeler’s won the Super Bowl.
The actor has also made news when he made no secret of his desire to be considered for the new Superman movie reboot. The film, which has yet to officially cast any parts, is being directed by Zach Snyder, most well-known for his movie’s “300” and “Watchmen.”
“’It’s not up to me at this point,” Manganiello told Extra. “I love Zack Snyder, huge fan. I’d be honored if they chose to do that. We’ll see. It’s out there in the ether.”
Manganiello’s career has picked up since being signed onto the supernatural series, and credit’s Audra for all his success this far.
“She’s been amazing,” he told People. “She’s been really incredible, and she’s been by my side and been supportive through the entire thing. There have been moments that have been really hard for me in my career that every actor goes through, and she’s the one who is like, ‘Come on, let’s keep going.’ She really is that cheerleader for me.”
