Bridal season is just around the corner and it seems the same can be said for the celebrity world as well. The only real difference is the grandeur with which they celebrate, which holds true for the wedding of Kings of Leon rocker Caleb Followill and model Lily Aldridge.
The young couple was married in Montecito, California last week in front of their family and friends, including Followill’s band mates, brothers Nathan and Jared Followill and cousin Matthew Followill.
Aldridge and Followill first met in 2007 at the Coachella music festival, an annual gathering, famous for bringing in celebrities. Aldridge, who has modeled for brands like Levi’s and J Crew, first walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret in 2009 and became a VS “Angel” by the following year, a role for which she is the most well-known for. She is also said to be the inspiration for Kings of Leon’s hit song, “Sex on Fire.”
Although the couple is said to be planning a larger more lavish celebrations for all their friends at a later date, the small ceremony last week was held at the luxurious San Ysidro Ranch, a romantic spot that has been home to other celebrity weddings over the years.
Movie star Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly exchanged wedding rings with Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin at the ranch in 2003, after meeting backstage at one of his concerts the year before.
Last week though, Aldridge walked down a white rose petal covered aisle strapless white Vera Wang dress with layers of Chantilly lace and corded lace appliqué and raw edge swirling chiffon detail on the back. Followill wore Gucci suit, for the occasion after which he told Us Weekly it was a perfect day’.
