Only three months after confirming they are a couple, actress Amy Smart and television carpenter Carter Oosterhouse have confirmed that they are getting married.
The actress, best known for her work in the movie Road Trip, and the television shows Felicity and Scrubs, spoke to Us Weekly about the engagement, calling it “very new” and very exciting.”
Oosterhouse reportedly proposed during an Earth Day celebration in New York City on Thursday, and a source told the magazine that there could not have been a better setting for the proposal.
“He’s an eco-carpenter; Amy drives a hybrid and is the greenest girl I know. They are perfect for each other,” The source shared.
The groom to be, who is best known for his work as a carpenter on the TLC show Trading Spaces and also his own shows, Carter Can and Red Hot & Green on HGTV, first met Smart at a green charity party in November of last year.
And although Smart has yet to share the official details on her engagement ring, the actress was all smiles at the event held Thursday at Columbia University, while she walked the red carpet wear a huge new diamond ring.
She may have to put her wedding plans on hold though, as Smart is slated to get back into acting with three new projects in the works, including the movie “12 Dates of Christmas.” Fortunately for her though, it looks like her dating days are over, in real life at least.
