Edward Norton has reportedly become engaged to his longtime girlfriend Shauna Robertson after proposing while the couple was on vacation three weeks ago.
The actor, well-known from movies like “Fight Club” and “The Italian Job” reportedly proposed to film producer Robertson, known for her work on “Pineapple Express,” Knocked Up,” and “Superbad” while the pair was in India.
Norton has never been one to talk about his personal life, and this time was no exception, as it was his ex-fiancé Courtney Love who spilled the beans to The New York Post when asked for comment.
“Wow, it’s about time. He’s 41, they’ve been together for six years,” she told the Post. “He needs to have babies.”
The controversial front woman for the band ‘Hole’ dated the actor from 1996 to 1999 and has credited him with being a mediator for Love and her daughter Francis Bean throughout their rocky relationship.
Norton was also in a long-term relationship with actress Selma Hayek from after Love in 1999, although the couple split in 2003 and Hayek is now married to international business man François-Henri Pinault.
Shortly after their split Norton began dating Robertson, with whom he started the charity Crowdrise, a social platform website that help raise money for charity, which is currently working to raise money for the victims of the recent Tsunami in Japan.
The down to earth actor has never been one to embrace celebrity, once revealing to Vogue Magazine, “If I ever have to stop taking the subway, I’m gonna have a heart attack,” which makes it unlikely that too many wedding details will be leaked.
However we can always rely on Love it seems who had one more thing to say to The New York Post.
“I wonder what kind of ring he got her,” she asked. “He bought me a ruby.”
