Sophie Monk, a well-known name from less well known movies like “Date Movie” and “Click” recently announced her engagement to America business man, Jimmy Esebag while on the radio this week.
The actress and model has been filling in as a cohost on the Australian radio station 2Day FM’s breakfast show with Kyle Sandilands recently, and casually dropped the big news on-air.
“I got engaged, and I kept it quiet so no-one’s heard much about him,” Monk shared with the audience. “It feels right. I think you know when you know.”
Monk, who got her start on the Australian talent Show “Popstars” in 1999, suffered a bit of heartbreak last year when she allegedly found her boyfriend, Plastic Surgeon Jason Diaz, in bed with another woman. However this time around, Monk thinks she’s gotten it right, despite being about 20 years Esebag’s junior.
The blonde beauty previously shared her feeling about Esebag on-air, and most recently told radio listeners who perfect they were for one another.
“I’m marrying a male version of myself, which is dangerous but good,” she said. “He’s a keeper.”
Cohost Sandilands seems to agree, describing Esebag as a “’top bloke, very nice, very blue eyes.”
The American businessman is currently the Chairman of the Board of American’s Licensing Holding Group, which owns the rights the Playboy brand.
Monk, who is good friends with newlywed Nicole Richie, also more famous for her name than her work, has described her engagement ring as a “chandelier” ring, but was quick to turn the ring around when she was photographed having lunch yesterday.
Aside from her heartbreaking experience with Dr. Diaz, Monk has also been linked to Ryan Seacrest, Benji Madden, and Kevin Connelly, but has described Esebag as her ‘soul mate.’
