So many designs are being listed as the newest or hottest engagement ring trends in 2011, whether through fashion makers or fashion forecast, ‘Raised’ engagement rings being the latest trend to make the cut.
The raised look is created when the center diamond is slightly raised from the top of your finger, by some underneath detail. And while it is being hailed as the latest and the greatest, some of the rings from Verragio have always showcased this design element.
For a slightly raised look, there is the subtle elegance of the Couture collection from Verragio, which include some of the most popular combinations of modern detail and traditional beauty. The Couture 0378 features pave’ set round diamonds on a thin shank that splits halfway and continues towards the square cut center diamond. The setting of the diamond however is slightly raised to sit over the trademark Verragio crest and diamond bezel that sits directly under. The small, elevating detail though, is what transforms this design, and is the most simplistic way to feature a ‘raised’ look.
The Venetian collection from Verragio is inspired by the idea of antique Italian lace, which manifests itself in the curls and turns of the design elements incorporated into each ring of the collection, but it is also this detailing that raises the bar. The Venetian 5015R features a Round cut diamond center, flanked on each side by a row of pave’ set round diamonds adorning the outside of the band. The inside of the band however, raises the center diamond with the lace detail that side against the finger, and creates an interesting vantage anyway you hold your hand.
Twisted shanks are a design element that has been buzzed about since celebrities like Catherine Zeta Jones and Portia De Rossi have been seen wearing them, and the Insignia 7055R from Verragio combines the best of both worlds. A three stone design, this ring features a Round cut diamond center, flanked by two smaller Round cut diamonds set onto a diamond adorned shank that splits and continually overlaps to form a twisted look, it is unique enough as is. However, like all rings in the Insignia collection, there is a scroll design under the band that encapsulates the Verragio crest and raises the head.
While there haven’t been to many raised celebrity engagement ring sightings in the first month of 2011, not for wont of effort, the uplifting look of a raised ring is scheduled to make its mark this year, so keep a look out for the design that transforms the traditional to trendy and the ordinary to extraordinary.
