No Beginning and No End: The Round Cut Diamond Ring Gets a New Look

The popularity of diamond engagement rings started with a single solitaire Round cut diamond design and has continued to stand the test of time.  The round cut diamond however you use it though, has also continued to be the most popular cut for diamonds, no matter how hard the Princess cut is chasing at its heels.

Below are just a couple of the interesting designs from Verragio that incorporate Round diamonds and prove that everything old can indeed be new again.

The beauty of a halo design is that is enhances and often gives the illusion of a larger center diamond, and although it can be paired with any shape, the Insignia 7046 creates a slightly edgier look for a Round center.  Featuring a cushion halo, this engagement ring adds a slightly geometric frame surrounding a Round cut center diamond.  The shank splits slightly on each side and is adorned with pave’ set diamonds to create a unique look that sparkles like nothing you’ve ever seen before.

Three stone engagement rings are popular for their representation of the past, present, and future, and are more often than not seen with square cut diamonds like a Princess shape or the recently trendy cushion cut.  The Insignia 7049 has a Round cut diamond center with two flanking smaller Round diamonds.  However it is once again a halo that helps transform this look.  Each diamond has its own individual halo surrounding and separating to create the look of three different entities that still work together.  The design also includes the scrolling detail under the band that the Insignia collection is known for.

However, there is a reason that classics are classic and that’s because they have a sense of timeless-ness, so if you are the type of person to not want to mess with proven success, there is the Classico 0372. Much like the original solitaire design, this engagement ring features a Round cut center diamond held in place with six prongs.  However, Verragio’s design is slightly updated with the exclusive Lumino setting, which offers more opportunity for light reflection, as well as smaller round cut diamonds that adorn the band three-quarters of the way around.

Never one to try to change something that has stood the test of time, Verragio is not trying to reinvent the wheel, so to speak, just making it a little better.
